Review Neatsvor X520: Best Robot Vacuum Cleaner with 6000 Pa suction power and gyroscope for navigation 2021

Neatsvor X520 is a new Chinese robot vacuum cleaner, the cost of which varies between 200–250 dollars, while it is equipped only with a gyroscope for navigation. But the manufacturer has equipped the model with a capacious 5200 mAh lithium-ion battery and claims a suction power of up to a record 6000 Pa. If the robot is really that powerful, then it can make noise in the market. Next, we will take a closer look and test the Neatsvor X520, after which we will express our own opinion whether this robot vacuum cleaner is worth buying. So let’s go!

Equipment

First of all, let’s see what is included in the package. A robot vacuum cleaner arrived in this box:

In addition to the robot itself, it contains:

  1. Charging base.
  2. Power adapter.
  3. Separate water tank with fitted microfiber cloth.
  4. Spare napkin.
  5. Instruction manual in English.
  6. Remote Control.
  7. Spare foam and HEPA filter.
  8. Two spare side brushes.
  9. Brush for cleaning the dust container.

Equipment

The complete set lacks only a motion limiter, and so there is everything for the operation of the robot vacuum cleaner during the first six months.

Appearance

Now let’s take a look at the robot vacuum cleaner itself. Neatsvor X520, like its older brother X600, is made in black with a glossy finish. Above we see the company logo, two control buttons (this is Start / Pause and Return to Charge), as well as an indicator of connection to a Wi-Fi network. A soft-touch mechanical bumper is installed at the front.

The dust container can be removed from the back. Its capacity is 600 ml. Filtration system based on mesh, foam and HEPA filters. According to the manufacturer, they can be rinsed with water.

Instead of a dust collector, a 350 ml water tank can be installed. Above we see the installed pump for electronic regulation of the water supply. There is a separate compartment for collecting garbage. It is important to note that the Neatsvor X520 does not vacuum in wet cleaning mode, but is capable of sweeping.

Let’s see how the robot vacuum cleaner is arranged from below. It has 2 side brushes and a center brush. It is bristly-petal, not collapsible, only the bearing boot is removed.

In general, the robot vacuum cleaner is quite standard and of the same build quality, I can’t single out anything special.

Specifications

The main characteristics of the Neatsvor X520, declared by the manufacturer:

  • Battery Li-Ion 5200 mAh.
  • Suction power up to 6000 Pa.
  • Cleaning area up to 250 sq.m.
  • Battery life up to 180 min.
  • Dust container 600 ml.
  • Water tank 350 ml.
  • Passage of obstacles up to 1.5 cm.
  • Dimensions 330 * 75 mm.

It is important to note here, due to the fact that a powerful battery is installed, the manufacturer claims that the robot can cover a fairly large area, while removing up to 3 hours on a single charge. But in fact, robotic vacuum cleaners with a gyroscope are capable of effectively cleaning in areas of no more than 60 square meters. Maximum 80 squares, and then, for them it will already be a problem. So, if we talk about ideal conditions, a rectangular room without obstacles, then a robot can really walk up to 250 square meters. But if we are talking about real living conditions, focus on 60 square meters, no more.

Well, the suction power is declared simply space in comparison with competitors, we will also check it at the stand in order to compare it with analogs.

Functionality

Neatsvor X520 is controlled via a mobile app and remote control. First, we’ll show you how to operate from a smartphone. To do this, you need to download the Weback application, register, log in and scan the QR code on the robot itself to connect it to the network. Personally, my robot did not connect to the network for a very long time, no matter what I did. But then, nevertheless, I was able to connect it without doing anything additional. Perhaps the servers are overloaded and because of this, failures occur when connecting the robot. Also, the robot was almost completely discharged from the box, and I previously put it on charge overnight, after which I made repeated connections. Maybe it helped. The problem of connecting to a smartphone is also evidenced by customer reviews on the network. Well, in general, I was able to connect it, so I’m showing the functionality.

The main work panel displays the map built by the robot since the last cleaning. Under it, data about the last cleaning and the current state of the battery are saved.

The functions available include starting and stopping the cleaning process, adjusting the suction power, adjusting the water supply with the battery installed, forced return to the base for charging, starting the automatic cleaning mode, spot, along the walls, as well as manual control of the robot vacuum cleaner.

In addition, in the settings, you can change the name of the robot, set up cleaning according to the schedule at the desired time and days of the week, share the control with other family members and update the firmware if necessary.

This is all the functionality of the Neatsvor X520. The remote control has a button for turning on / off the robot vacuum cleaner, a display that shows the time and data on cleaning, below the button for starting the automatic cleaning mode and forced return to the base for charging. Below these buttons are buttons for manual control of the robot, as well as a start / pause button. Even below, a row of buttons responsible for adjusting the suction power, setting the current time on the display and cleaning one room. The manufacturer recommends starting this mode by additionally limiting the cleaning area by closing the door and leaving the robot in one of the desired rooms. The lowest row of buttons is responsible for turning on the wet cleaning mode, setting up cleaning according to the schedule and starting the cleaning mode for the perimeter of the room.

In general, more functions are duplicated on the remote control than in the application, so I’m not sure if the application will be useful at all. By the way, the Neatsvor X520 is additionally controlled via the Yandex.Alisa voice assistant.

Navigation

Let’s move on to the tests. First of all, let’s check the navigation of the Neatsvor X520 within the same room with obstacles in automatic cleaning mode. The robot vacuum cleaner passes the entire available area with a snake. The touch to objects is rough, while cleaning he moved the chair and the box. Not stuck on the dryer. After passing the entire available area, the Neatsvor X520 switched to the perimeter aisle and thus made three circles, not intending to return to base. And in the end, I cleaned it up for more than 30 minutes in total, after which it was decided to complete the test. The map, as you can see, was constantly being redrawn. So navigation in difficult conditions did not inspire confidence in this model. But at least with the forced return, the robot found the base without any problems and returned to it, at least it pleases.

Navigating within a room

In addition, we checked how the Neatsvor X520 will behave in the area of ​​the entire house. And the situation repeated itself, at first the robot vacuum cleaner went through all the rooms like a snake, building a more or less accurate map, after which it began to remove the perimeter, redraw the boundaries of the rooms and began to drive through the places where it had already been removed several times. But at least at some point, he did return to base. As a result, 34 sq.m. 82 minutes were spent and so far it can be said that the most “long-cleaning” robot vacuum cleaner that we had on the test.

In general, the navigation of this model is not the best, even when compared with other robots with a gyroscope. The only good news is that there are no uncleaned zones left in the two tests.

Go ahead, now let’s check the suction power of the Neatsvor X520, which, according to the manufacturer, reaches 6000 Pa. The robot really makes a lot of noise, as if there is a powerful engine in it, but in reality it was able to suck out debris only from a slot 2 mm deep.

This is, as it were, a good indicator and an average for the market, but most robots, which claimed 2500–2700 Pa, show the same result, and some are even better. So, in my opinion, 6000 Pa is a marketing ploy.

But the quality of dry cleaning pleased. Neatsvor X520 was able to pick up almost all the rubbish from the floor and even better than many other round robots swept it out in the corners. The main part of the debris is collected in a dust collector, and hair, which was a lot on the stand, was wound around the side and central brush. In general, this test was passed successfully.

There are also no complaints about cleaning carpets, the robot vacuum cleaner coped with the task and efficiently collected wool, hair and small debris from the carpet.

The quality of wiping off dirt is not very high. Some of the dirt on the stand still remained, including along the plinth. But given the initial state of the stand, we can say that the robot wipes the floor at an average level.

But for delicate wet cleaning, it is quite suitable. There is enough water tank for the entire cleaning cycle.

The cross-country capacity of the Neatsvor X520 is no more than 15 mm, as stated by the manufacturer. Unfortunately, he is not able to run over two-centimeter sills.

But this robot vacuum cleaner is not afraid of dark coatings and calmly moves over them, not recognizing changes in height. This is a plus.

Noise level

And finally, let’s check the noise level of the Neatsvor X520 in different modes. In the wet cleaning mode with the suction off, the noise level reaches 60 dB. At the minimum power it does not exceed 65 dB, but in the maximum mode the noise level reaches 72 dB. And as for me, the robot vacuum cleaner is not justifiably noisy, given the suction power.

Summing up

The Neatsvor X520 has been reviewed and tested in detail. He was able to score 46 out of 100 points . As for a robot vacuum cleaner, the result is quite good, I would even say standard. But there is one BUT: the cost of this robot is over 200 dollars, cheaper and have a higher score.

Let’s take a closer look at the pros and cons of the Neatsvor X520. I can attribute to the advantages:

  1. Powerful battery.
  2. Optimal suction power, just like a robot vacuum cleaner.
  3. A good package.
  4. Wet cleaning function.
  5. Control via app and remote control.
  6. Good dry cleaning quality.
  7. Yandex Alice support.
  8. Ability to work on dark surfaces.

But as for the shortcomings, it is obvious that:

  1. Poor navigation.
  2. Problems connecting to the app.
  3. A robot vacuum cleaner cannot vacuum and mop the floor at the same time.
  4. No movement limiter included.
  5. Poor permeability.

Well, apart from all this — the price tag is above the market average. So in the end, I personally have a double opinion about the robot after the review. On the one hand, it is the same as most robots in the budget segment, but on the other hand, for 200 dollars, you can already choose a robot vacuum cleaner with a camera for navigation and even a lidar , which will be more functional and better navigate in space. So I would recommend this model if there is a good discount. And so, even the older Neatsvor X600 with a lidar can be bought for 200 dollars. In terms of the quality of cleaning, it is not inferior, but it is clearly better in navigation.
